Step into a bygone era in our Fringe venue in the heart of Edinburgh’s New Town. A hidden gem tucked away in the basement of the Royal Scots Club, the Speakeasy brings you an intimate 1920s atmosphere mixed with an exciting and diverse programme of shows, lectures and events.

We are currently scheduling for 2026 and would love to hear from you if you are looking to bring a show. Our unusual venue boasts a capacity of 100-120, intimate cabaret seating, a raised stage and is fully air conditioned. We can offer some of the cheapest venue hire rates on the Fringe and are very happy to discuss individual requirements. We are particularly keen to support local acts and artists. The venue is wheelchair accessible.

Due to the relatively small stage and limited technical offer, the space is most suitable for cabaret, comedy, storytelling, music and small-scale or site-specific theatre. It is not suitable for large-scale or technically-heavy productions.
